Living on campus at Detroit Mercy gives you the opportunity to enjoy the excitement of living in a vibrant, major city. And you won't be just another face in the crowd.

We pride ourselves on being a real community, where your professors know your name and interests. You'll get to know your fellow Detroit Mercy students hanging out in our new Student Union, where you'll find a ping pong table and a pool table, breakout rooms for studying and socializing. The Student Union is also one of the many places to eat on campus and is home to the Titan Dining Room and , which features a Subway, J. Clark's Grille and more.

Our campus is also home to tennis courts, volleyball courts and our 40,000-square-foot Student Fitness Center

 Plus, we offer many signature campus events, such as:

  • The Midnight Bike Ride, a nighttime tour of Detroit
  • TitanFest, an annual campus-wide celebration in the fall.
  • De-Stress Fest, a chance to relax and enjoy your time on campus before finals.

—including Anime Club, Chemistry Club, the Pep Band, Theatre Company and many more—host diversity and professional events as well. We're also home to a robust Greek life, with numerous sororities and fraternities hosting social and service events and intramural sports.

  • Returning and Transfer Student Welcome Email and Information

    As summer is flying by, we have been busy preparing for your arrival on campus! We are looking forward to another great year in the residence halls. If you're new here, Welcome! If you're returning, Welcome back!

    Your housing assignment and roommate information can be found on your TitanHousing portal. You can log into your TitanHousing Portal by clicking , use your Office 365 credentials. The roommate listed in your TitanHousing Portal is your most up to date roommate. If you live in the Quads, you will also see your suitemates. As we receive cancellations, your roommate may change. Changes will be reflected on your TitanHousing portal. We encourage you to check this information regularly as we will not be sending out additional e-mails regarding roommate changes.

    If you requested a single room and were approved, you should have received a separate email approving your single status, no roommate name will show in your TitanHousing portal, however you will be able to see your suitemates. If you did not request a single and see no roommate, you may be assigned one at a later time.

    Housing Accommodations

    If you would like to renew your housing accommodation please email sas@udmercy.edu with the subject “Housing Renewal 2025”.

    If you want to start a new housing accommodation, please start your process by going to the Student Accessibility Services website and clicking “Request Accommodations”.

    Room or Roommate change requests.

    If you are looking to change your room or roommate, please fill out the request form below. All parties involved will need to fill out the form. Changes will be addressed once all parties involved have filled out the form and only if there is room to make a change.

    Move-in:

    All Quad and Holden residents will move in August 23rd and August 24th. If you need to move in BEFORE the 23rd, please fill out the 

    Early Arrival Requests:

    Need to move in outside of August 23rd and 24th? Please fill out the . Frequently approved early move-in requests: There may be a daily fee assessed based on the request. You will be notified if there is a charge.

    Academic Year Contract

    As stated in the 2025 Room Selection information and the 2025-2026 Residence Life Housing Agreement, you have submitted a binding contact for the academic year with the Office of Residence Life at the 糖心logo入口. In signing this contract, you are bound to live in the residence halls for the entire academic year.

    Meal Plans

    If you would like to make a change to the plan you have already selected, please complete your request here:

    All meal plan changes must be received by September 5th, 2025. 

    Residence Halls Closings

    As a reminder, the Residence Halls will be closed for the dates listed below. Extended Stay is available for a limited time, but while the University is closed, other living arrangements must be made during these dates:

    Winter Break Halls will close 12/13/25 at 7 pm and will re-open 1/11/26 at 9am.

    Health Insurance

    All residence hall students are required by the 糖心logo入口 to have health insurance, and in August are automatically enrolled into the Student Health Insurance plan offered by the University. If you are covered by another insurance plan, you may waive the University offered plan. Information on waiving your plan will be in a future communication. You will have until September 15th to waive your plan.

    Cancellations

    If you have decided to no longer attend the University or live off campus, please fill out a . Forms received before May 31st will automatically be approved. Forms received after the 31st deadline will be reviewed and only approved if you meet the criteria outlined in the cancellation policy. Please check out the cancellation policy on your TitanHousing portal home screen. You can also find the cancellation form available for you there.

  • Housing Sign up for Returning students

    We hope that you’ve enjoyed living on campus and that you’ve had a positive experience! We're beginning our process of room selection and assignments for the 2025-2026 academic year.  to sign up to live in Residence Life for the academic year. You will use your Office 365 credentials to sign up. The application you are filling out is for the full academic year that spans August 2025 through April 2026.  You will also be selecting a meal plan at this time.

    Roommates and Suitemates

    After you have submitted your application, you will be able to search for roommates that also have submitted their applications. Your roommate code is in the upper right hand corner of your home screen. Once you know who you want to room with, you will need to send and/or accept the roommate request.  You can have a roommate group of up to 4 people.  You will select a group leader that will select the actual room during selection.  Any potential roommates/suitemates MUST have completed their application before you will be able to see them in your group. If you receive an error message, please fill out the Room or Roommate change request form.

    Room and/or roommate changes are due August 1st.  Anything after that date will be assessed after move-in. All changes are subject to availability.

    Singles

    Students who are interested in a single (for whatever reason) will need to fill out the form below to be on the waitlist. Singles are limited and will be issued through a random lottery, aside from those who have an established ADA need for a single. Please note that at this time, we are only going thru the single selection process with those who are currently approved thru the Accommodation process and special exceptions. You do not need to renew at this time, but will be able to as of May, 2025.

    Students who are eligible for an ADA single will need to request the single through the accommodation form after May 1st below in addition to the Single Waitlist.

     

  • Freshman Housing Sign Ups

    Welcome from 糖心logo入口 Residence Life.to sign up to live in Residence Life for the academic year. You will use your Office 365 credentials to sign up. The application you are filling out is for the full academic year that spans from August 2025 to May 2026. You will also be selecting a meal plan at this time.  All communication will be with your Detroit Mercy account.  So, please check your email regularly.

    Roommates

    After you have submitted your application, you will be able to search for roommates that also have submitted their applications.  Your roommate code is in the upper right-hand corner of your home screen. Once you know who you want to room with, you will need to accept the roommate request.  

    Those that do not select a roommate prior to June 19th will be automatically placed with a roommate that compliments your roommate preferences.

    Singles

    Assignments

    The first round of assignments will go out the week of June 16th. Those who apply after that date will still be able to live on campus, assignments will just come at a later date.

    Lofts

    Residence Life will be renting lofts on a first come, first serve basis. Personal lofts are not permitted, so if you plan on using a loft please fill out this form. The rental fee is $100 for the year for a loft. This fee is non-refundable and will be charged to your student account. There are a limited number of lofts, and will be issues based on request date on the form.

    Loft requests made prior to August 1st will be in the room and assembled prior to move-in.

    Non-Freshman

    If you are not a First-Year student and/or graduated from High School before 2025 and only see the Freshman Application in your TitanHousing Portal, please email us.  We can work with you to make sure you are filling out the correct application.

  • Single Rooms

    Prefer to live alone? A limited number of single units are available to interested students based on the sign-up date. Fill out the to be considered. 

    Single rooms are given out for one academic year; you will need to reapply at the start of every Fall semester if you want a single room.

    If you are eligible for an Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) single, you will need to request the single through the Student Accessibility Services  in addition to filling out the Single Waitlist form. You will not be able to request a single accommodation until May for the Fall 2025 semester. If you have questions, please contact Student Accessibility Services using the contact information below:

  • Health Insurance Requirement

    If you plan to live in a residence hall, you must have documentation of health insurance. Waivers will be live in July. The waiver deadline is September 15, 2025.
